Chase Thomas, LB || Stanford

Name: Chase Thomas
School: Stanford
Position: LB
Game: Washington
Final Game Grade: 6.20

Chase Thomas is not the the fastest line backer out there this season. Though he is a versatile player, lining up all over the field for Stanford. They liked to line him up more as a stand up defensive end in this game. Seems to be more effective when he is up moving around for his pass rushes.

Sheds blocks better on blitzs when he has some early speed to him. Washington was not overlly concerned with his position when he was at LOS with hand down.

Thomas did display a very good swim technique on multiple pass rushes to put pressure on the QB. Tends to be better for zone coverage rather than M/M with his lack of speed.

Good tackler in the open field. Wraps up the ball carrier nicely. Reads the plays very well. Always around the ball no matter the play selection from the offense.

Overall, Thomas lacks a little lower body size and is not the fastest LB this season. Much better up and moving around behind the DL than with his down at the LOS. Has the ability to line up at different spots. Though is much better up to use his good swim technique to get after the QB. Good tackler in open space.
