Markus Wheaton will draw attention from the next level for his excellent speed and his ability to gain big YAC's in open space. One negative could be brought up is that even at 6-1, he is only 182 lbs. Would like to see somewhere near 10 more pounds be added to his frame.
Wheaton does a nice job of recognizing where the defender is, in M/M or zone. He can hurt a team and defender in either coverage equally as well.
In M/M, he simply uses his speed and quick hands to get around a CB. Also, in zone he sees the soft open areas, attacks them and uses his speed to gain big YAC's in that coverage.
Wheaton also does a nice job blocking down field for other receiver and in the run game. He makes good adjustments to the ball, looking to see what quarterback is doing or needs out of him. As well as using his athletic ability and flexibility to make adjustments when the ball is thrown behind him.
Very dangerous in open space that can eat up big chunks of yards with his YAC's.
