Name: Collin Klein
School: Kansas State
Position: QB
Game: Texas Tech
Final Game Grade: 6.70
Collin Klein combines his size, 6-5, 226 lbs, throwing and rushing ability at the QB position better than anyone in the country that I have seen this season. Very athletic QB who can not only deliver every throw on the field. He can also pick up big chunks of yards with his feet.
He actually started out slow against Texas Tech, though he ended the first half completing 6 of his last 7 passes. Three straight at one point for first downs.
Klein displays great poise in the pocket. Though he can hold on to the ball too long at times looking for holes to run through. Saw this several times against Texas Tech. Obviously creates a lot of second chances on plays with his feet in the pocket.
Struggles with deep ball accuracy in the past. Though he had five deep balls (over 15+ yards) in this game and completed them all. Ended game going 19 of 25, 76% completion percentage.
He reads defenses ok, nothing special there. He does find open receivers quickly and makes smart choices with the ball.
Very productive player, accounting for nearly 80% of his teams yardage. Tough, clear leader on and off the field. poised to make the jump and make an impact at the next level.
